Data Availability
Mobile phone mobility data are freely available to researchers, non-profit organizations and governments through the SafeGraph COVID-19 Data Consortium. All other data come from publicly available sources; we provide links to these data below. The dataset from The New York Times consists of aggregated COVID-19-confirmed case and death counts collected by journalists from public news conferences and public data releases. We also use data from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) to estimate national excess deaths. Our state-level mask-wearing data comes from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation's (IHME) public dashboard. Additional data about US census block groups come from the US American Census Survey. Our code is also available online at https://github.com/snap-stanford/covid-mobility-tool.
